The SJSU Judoka celebrated the end of a great year at Mr. Uchida’s House with the annual Team BBQ. The team really enjoyed taking time away from finals to be together. The freshman did a great job with the skits (check them out here). The coaches presented awards to special members of the team. Some are meaningful,-others more fun than seriousness-but all represent our bond as a team. Lovers of the year was awarded to Matt Dong and Destinee; Most Improved was awarded to Brenton Hsu; Fall of the year (now including pins) was awarded to Arash; Fighting Spirit was awarded to Matt Ogata; Most Obnoxious was awarded to Lenny (we still love you!); and MVP was awarded to L.A. Smith. This year was particularly special since 5 members of the team will be graduating. Stepping forward on their new journey, we wish them a happy graduation, great success in the future, and that they never forget they have family in the SJSU Dojo. Special thanks to grill masters Arash and Mr. Ogata, and the Uchida family for opening their home to us as always.
