Congratulations to San Jose State Judo at This Year’s San Jose Buddhist Sensei Memorial Tournament

This past weekend 16 competitors represented San Jose State at the 66th San Jose Buddhist Judo Club and 22nd “Sensei Memorial” Tournament. During the opening ceremonies, Mr. Uchida and Marti Malloy gave speeches remembering Sensei Keiko Fukuda. Mr. Uchida received a picture from 1953 capturing the first time he met Sensei Keiko Fukuda. Marti received a picture of Sensei Fukuda when she was around the same age as Marti next to a picture of Marti when she won bronze at the 2012 London Olympics.

After a long day of competition, we ended the tournament with 3 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
